Yes, this is a picture of rice. Rice is in the Poaceae family. That is the grass family, also home to sugar cane and bamboo. The man on the far left is Manuel, who has been farming here since the 1980s.
Our Fabulous Toyota Landcruiser has been known to fit 15 people in the back. Our driver has affectionately named it “Marta”. We are usually ten. The upper right backdrop features some of us on a rock, viewing the pacific.
